Full Disclosures #1 and #2.
#1 I wrote a screenplay way back in 2004, an epic, comic spoof, musical, love story taking place in NYC's world of hip-hop in the year 2415, with merch ties-ins, etc! Lo and behold, 2015, Empire landed in our lives. It's uncanny, my movie is literally is the mock fantasy, future sequel to Empire.
#2 I was so honored to meet Lee Daniels waaaaay back when too, and just talking to him, shaking his hand, I knew he'd go all the way to the top.

So naturally, I had to draw Cookie and Lucious, "CookieLucious"... the most exciting parent-lovers-biz duo to hit our screens possibly ever. Taraji P. Henson and Terrance Howard have that compelling electricity alone and together!
It's all there Empire fans, the stepping on each other, the control issues, the tantrums, the cold ignoring and the bond between these two charismatic characters. The rose, the yanked tablecloth, I got you.
As for decor, I could only wish to see my illustration hanging in Season 3 next to a Kehinde Wiley in an Empire home or office. Be still my beating heart.
That and my movie coming soon...and "I got you, my own sweet Empire!";-)
