Dandies and girlie girls never miss a chance to dress up for any occasion. To be fully in character and in the play of life.
This sketch is inspired by the 1980's when my good friend had a clothing store on 6th Street, one of the first "club kid" clothiers, purveyors to Patricia Field. It was located between Avenue A and B in the East Village, back in the days when you had to step over junkies on the sidewalk to the right and ignore menacing bodybuilders on motorcycles to the left, hanging out at the "gym" next door. Quite sure there are luxury condos there now.
So throwback, here I'm wearing an off-white pleather ( unashamed plastic leather ) mini skirt from the above store and a huge grey hoodie that belonged to my gym trainer to do wash at the laundromat. Headband, curls. Hey, I thought I looked very cute.
