IRIS DANKNER

Iris Dankner is a breast cancer survivor who brings a brilliant light and healing to a dark place, much like NYC's Lady Liberty welcomes. 

Her philanthropic and visionary heart has created Holiday House, an annual, winter holiday NYC interior design show house event.  Each year top interior designers imagine rooms in the grand Academy mansion to raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Fund. Notable stylish characters gather, like moths to a flame...creatives, journalists, brand notables, philanthropists, interior design fans...all to celebrate for a good cause.

Part of the inspiration here was my 2015 visit, where it seemed all the elements of Holiday House were much like the game Clue.  Iris, presiding, reminded me of Miss Scarlet, note the inspiration here!  Here is my blog post on the event, to read more!

My illustration is an homage to this magical being.  Let her inspire other magical beings healing into survivors!
